Anti Ragging Cell

The public is hereby informed that ragging is deemed a criminal offense, and the University Grants Commission (UGC) has established regulations in 2009 aimed at eradicating this practice within Higher Educational Institutions. These regulations are binding, and it is incumbent upon all institutions to undertake requisite measures for their implementation. The primary objective is to proactively prohibit, prevent, and eliminate the scourge of ragging across Indian Universities, Colleges, and Institutions. Compliance with these regulations is not optional but mandatory, emphasizing the collective responsibility of educational establishments to foster safe and conducive learning environments. Institutions are required to take concrete steps in adherence to these guidelines, ensuring strict enforcement and reporting mechanisms to address instances of ragging promptly. The UGC expects full cooperation and compliance from all educational institutions, with regular updates and communication regarding the progress of implementation. It is imperative that the entire community, including students, faculty, and staff, collaborate to uphold the dignity and well-being of all individuals within the educational ecosystem.
