Department of Geology

Department of Geology was established in 2021 after M.Sc.Geology was sanctioned by the University of Calicut. Department of Geology is now headed by Ashik A and expertise is in the field of Igneous Petrology and Engineering Geology. We are providing an add on course on Geographical Information system in order to equip the students to analyze the geographical patterns and how the system work and interact with one another. We are dedicated to exploring the dynamic Earth and fostering a deep understanding of its processes, history, and resources. Our department provides field experiences designed to engage students in the fascinating world of geology.
Our students have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences both in the classroom and in the field. Field trips to diverse geological settings provide invaluable opportunities to apply classroom knowledge, develop fieldwork skills, and appreciate the complexity of Earth processes firsthand.
