Department of Commerce And Management Studies

The Department of Commerce and Management Studies, established in 1993, serves approximately one-third of the college’s student population. It offers two undergraduate programs, B.Com (Finance) and BBA (Finance), initiated in 1993 and 1995 respectively, and a postgraduate program, M.Com (Finance), which began in 1999.

Currently, the department boasts a dedicated faculty of 12 permanent teachers who provide guidance and instruction to students. To integrate industry practices with academic learning, the department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, and lectures featuring experts from various fields. Additionally, it offers free coaching for UGC-NET exams to college students.

Faculty members are active in research, frequently publishing articles in renowned national and international journals. One faculty member has recently been awarded a Research Guideship under the University of Calicut. The department has consistently achieved high academic results, securing university ranks at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The department also provides an add-on course in Computerized Financial Accounting in collaboration with KELTRON and the National Skill Development Centre. Furthermore, a Diploma in HR and Finance course is available in collaboration with Apply4mba.com. To enhance experiential and contextual learning, the department organizes field visits and study tours.
